The monster must go!

Summary

The story describes a troublesome and chaotic monster that unexpectedly appears in a family's home, causing disarray by eating continuously and being loud at night. The monster is depicted with playful descriptors like noisy, grumpy, dirty, and sticky, which symbolize the frustration it brings to those living with it. Various attempts to rid the house of the monster, such as scaring, trapping, and even sending it to the moon, fail and only make it more mischievous. Ultimately, the family member trying to get rid of the monster realizes that perhaps the monster isn't so bad after all. This narrative playfully explores themes of tolerance, acceptance, and the idea that sometimes what initially seems disruptive can reveal unexpected, positive qualities.

There is a MONSTER in our house.

It wasn’t ALWAYS here.

One day, it just TURNED UP.

The monster EATS all day and ROARS all night.

The monster is…

NOISY
GRUMPY
DIRTY
SMELLY
DROOLY
STICKY

The monster must GO!

I tried SCARING it off.

But the monster just LAUGHED.

HA-HA! HA-HA!

I tried TRAPPING it.

But the monster was too CUNNING.

I even tried sending it to the MOON.

But that just made it ANGRY.

It’s TOO LATE!

The monster’s GOT ME!

OH!

Well…
Maybe the monster isn’t SO bad.
