Oyisa loves to eat all kinds of fruit. She eats pears, grapes, oranges, and watermelon.

She can eat a whole lot of fruit in no time at all.

But she doesn’t like the seeds.
They get stuck in her teeth and taste bitter. Yuck!

Today, she’s eating a delicious, juicy pear.
She spits the seeds out on the ground.

A plant begins to grow between her feet.
That’s strange, thinks Oyisa. What’s going on here?

Suddenly, a tree shoots up high –
with Oyisa perched on top!

Oyisa needs to find a way down.

The branches look like a swing.

“Jingij ingiumnand’ujingiwam,” she sings.

She swiiiiinggs to the next branch and meets a bird.

The bird wants to build a cosy nest in her hair.

“No way, Mr Bird!”

On her way down, she spies a giant pear and climbs onto it.

It sways in differentdirections, and this is the best feeling in the world!

“Oyisaaaa! It’s time for your bath,” Mama calls.

“I’m coming!” shouts Oyisa from the tree.

What an adventure!

Oyisa decides to start collecting seeds. Who knows what magic lies inside them?
