Katiiti’s Song

Summary

The story follows a young girl named Katiiti who lives in a village near a forest. She enjoys playing in the forest, but her mother, Maama, warns her to be cautious. Each day, Maama uses a special song to call Katiiti back home. One day, while exploring, Katiiti encounters a gorilla and hides in a cave. The gorilla attempts to imitate Maama's song to lure Katiiti out but lacks the sweetness of Maama's voice. Determined, the gorilla eats bananas and honey to make his voice sweeter, but just as he perfects it, Maama arrives and scares the gorilla away. Reunited, Katiiti and Maama sing happily on their way home, underscoring the bond and unique connection between them through their special song.
